Questions? Consult a Caddo
Non-native academics, writers, researchers, institutions, or organizations;
Do you have a question is about whether or not something is ethical, accurate, or culturally appropriate? The first step is to contact the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma headquarters and tell the receptionist you would like to speak with a cultural ambassador or a member of the cultural preservation department. The tribe will usually put you in touch with an employee who can answer your question. Please be mindful the Haseenay person you get referred to may expect compensation and credit in your publication for providing information.

Center Haseenay voices and experiences — Pass the microphone.
Do you want a knowledgeable Haseenay person to speak about Haseenay stuff at your event or help you with an upcoming project, but you're not sure who to ask? The first step is to contact the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma headquarters and tell the receptionist you would like to consult with a Caddo that specializes in the topic you're needing a speaker for. If the tribe is unable to help, we can refer you to a Haseenay community member or educator. Please be mindful the Haseenay person you get connected with may expect compensation depending upon the amount of time, labor, energy, or travel your request entails.
Become Our Taysha:
Taysha means "friend" or "ally" in the Caddo language. If you are interested in becoming a taysha to the Haseenay, you may consider supporting a Haseenay-run community organization or tribal program. One simple way to raise your consciousness of Caddo issues is to follow the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma, Caddo Culture Club, and Metro Caddo Culture Club’s social media pages. You will find opportunities to support a Caddo tribal program or community organization’s drive, fundraiser, or event through their social media presence. Volunteering or donating your material and financial resources helps amplify the important work Caddo people are already doing to empower our people.
